Dear Diary Initiative Kenya has been instrumental in promoting menstrual health and hygiene among women and girls in Kenya. Recognizing the challenges posed by limited access to sanitary products, especially in marginalized communities, she has spearheaded projects focused on the distribution of reusable sanitary pads. These initiatives aim to provide sustainable menstrual solutions, reduce absenteeism among schoolgirls, and empower women with knowledge about menstrual health.
One notable effort includes the distribution of reusable pads to women in Takaungu, Kilifi County and Voi. This project not only addresses the immediate need for sanitary products but also promotes environmental sustainability by reducing reliance on disposable pads. By providing reusable pads, these initiatives help alleviate the financial burden associated with monthly menstrual supplies, enabling girls to attend school consistently and women to engage in daily activities without interruption.
